Crystal Rodenbaugh received her Bachelor's degree from University of Missouri-Columbia in Family Studies and Sociology in 2007. She then spent a year in England helping to establish a community center. Crystal later pursued her Master's in Social Work from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012. She worked for a local agency in Kansas City for three years and then stepped out to start her own private practice in 2015.
Crystal is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been featured in Psychology Today, is a published author on various motivational blog sites and is recognized as one of the top rated therapists in Kansas City. She enjoys working with busy professionals helping them discover more confidence, more freedom, and more meaning in their everyday lives. She is a Prepare and Enrich facilitator working with premarital couples as well. Crystal also works with teens and adults who are working through anxiety, life transitions, spiritual growth, relational conflict, and grief.
Crystal enjoys going on adventures in Kansas City, dabbling in real estate with her husband, working out at her favorite local gym, coaching her kids' basketball team, and traveling across the globe with her husband and two children. She also enjoys serving at her local church and giving back to the community.

Lacey Mings-Upshaw, MA, LPC, NC

Lacey seeks to provide a safe and warm environment in which each person can experience unconditional acceptance, empathy, and understanding through personal connection. She specializes in working with individuals experiencing symptoms related to-anxiety, depression, relationship issues, motherhood + postpartum, self-esteem, stress, and phase of life adjustments. She aims to tailor her therapeutic approach to each individual's needs and circumstances utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques.
Lacey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri, previously served on the Human Trafficking Task Force Working Group of Kansas City, and is a published author, conference speaker, and worship pastor.
A KC native, Lacey is a proud wife and mother of two beautiful children. She enjoys singing, photography, coffee, fitness, and modern calligraphy design. She also serves in her local church and has a passion to advocate against abolishing modern day slavery.

Lacey is a certified trained SYMBIS facilitator working with premarital couples + those who need relationship repair check-ups, and is also currently pursuing certifications towards becoming a Clinical Individual Trauma Specialist, Cognitive Behavior Life Coach, and Sex Trafficking and Sex Industry Exploration Certificate.
Debbie Frederiksen, MS, LPC

Debbie Frederiksen is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes primarily in trauma and anxiety disorders. Her experience working in mental health began over ten years ago and includes advocacy, education, volunteering, crisis line support, and counseling in a variety of settings.
She has received extensive training and experience for the treatment of PTSD and anxiety including:

Josiah Thompson, MA, LPC
Through training and life experiences, Josiah Thompson knows how complicated, painful, and lonely life can be. Josiah is especially excited and humbled that his work allows him to enter into difficult stories of people from different backgrounds, cultures, and contexts and walk with them towards healing.
He works with individuals and couples—with special interest in anxiety, depression, intimacy, abuse, family of origin issues, relationships, and spiritual direction.
Josiah is originally from New York and even had the chance to live in Melbourne, Australia. Together, with his wife, Josiah enjoys experiencing new places, pairing up for volleyball, sharing coffee, reading (ideally on the beach), and training for a half-marathon. Josiah is also an avid basketball player and has recently discovered the joys of cycling.

Grace Griffin-Spain, MA, LPC, NCC
Grace Griffin-Spain has seen both professionally and personally how transformative the therapeutic process can be when seeking change, growth, and healing. Her personal approach is grounded in integration. The integration of art and science, behavior and cognition, multiculturalism, and a diverse array of counseling theories. She focuses primarily on individuals and couples whose concerns may include anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship problems. Her goal is to provide empathy, understanding, empowerment, and acceptance while exploring her clients’ worldviews and encouraging their emotional and creative expression. She makes sure to tailor her approach to the individual needs of each client so that they have the tools they need to live a happy and healthy life.
Grace is happiest when researching or expressing herself artistically through writing, music, photography, collage-making, and filming movies starring her 11-year-old daughter. Gabrielle Chappelle aims to embody warmth and acceptance, understanding that journeying alongside her clients is a privilege to be met with genuineness and respect. She provides individual, couples, and family therapy, and specializes in: generational trauma, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, identity, and mood and substance use disorders. Her integrative, holistic approach is rooted in attachment theory and approaches that recognize the mind-body connection to healing, as she incorporates mindfulness and somatic experiencing into her therapeutic work. She seeks to understand her client’s personal narrative, cultural influences, and belief system, operating from a lens of curiosity to draw forth empowerment and connection.
Though Gabrielle loves the coast and the mountains, Kansas City is her longtime home. She finds peace in her daily yoga practice and humor in her friends and family. Trained in play therapy, she intentionally mixes play into her personal and professional life. She also is trained in EMDR and finds this technique incredibly life changing.

Baylen Stroh, MS, BA, Multicult. Educ. Stud.
Baylen believes that counseling is the first step in taking the reins of your life! Her counseling approach is meeting the client where they are at and with an unconditional positive regard. She also takes a lens of trauma informed, cognitive behavioral therapy approach but will blend a research of all methods that can best help the client. She works with teenagers and young adults to work through anxiety, depression, self-esteem, attachment styles, as well as building a healthy relationship with oneself and others.
Baylen is originally from Texas but after attending Mizzou, Missouri has held a special place in her heart and has since made it her home. Baylen enjoys traveling with her family and friends. She also loves to spend time with her two dogs, Disco and Pixie, reading a book on the couch, or watching her favorite movies.

Mikala Stacer, Graduate Intern
Mikala Stacer is a Graduate Intern pursuing her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Avila University. She seeks to provide a safe and warm environment for people who are journeying through the process of healing. She works with adolescents, adults, and couples with special interest in premarital counseling, anxiety, family of origin issues, relational conflict, life transitions, and grief.
Mikala is a Kansas City native who enjoys road trips with her husband and golden retriever. Mikala loves a good vegan meal, matcha, comedy, writing, and seeing new places.
